PARC's Mission

Our mission is simple: B-L-T.

We improve legal careers and legal outcomes by bringing together three essential communities of experts:

Business, Law & Technology.

How is PARC different from traditional bar associations?

  • Continuous, Focused Engagement
    • Not sporadic, hit-or-miss contacts at annual events, committee meetings or rushed intros between CLE sessions
  • Independent of Geography
    • Legal professionals in every jurisdiction can benefit from PARC membership
  • Independent of Legal Specialty
    • PARC provides opportunities to meet peers in every specialty area, making it easier to build a “personal board of advisors” as well as a referral network of trusted advisors
  • Equally supportive of all “BLT” Sectors
    • In-house counsel, outside counsel and legal technology executives are all welcome
    • We recognize the mutual need for engagement and knowledge sharing among “BLT” communities
  • We’re Focused on Career Success for All PARC Members
    • In-house counsel, outside counsel and legal technology executives are all welcome
    • At PARC, we recognize the the rapid changes in business, technology and law pose unprecedented challenges as well as opportunities
    • We all need a little help from our peers around the legal services ecosystem — peer engagement fuels career success

What are the benefits of PARC membership?

  • Peer Support — regardless of which legal sector you are in, building and maintaining long-term success as a legal professional is challenging and requires a lot of knowledge, hard work and support of your peers — not only in your organization but across the legal services ecosystem. PARC is the first organization focused on bringing together peers from all sectors of legal into a single, convenient platform
  • Effective, Focused & Fun Events — our priorities in organizing events is to ensure that they are focused on relationship-building, mutual support and career success — and just as importantly that they are enjoyable, because life in our profession is challenging enough without adding long, boring committee meetings and conferences
  • In-Bound and Out-Bound Referrals — because the PARC community is selective and comprised of dedicated, high-quality legal professionals, we offer a wide variety of opportunities to make successful referrals for outside counsel, legal technology solutions and informal advice on best practices and career development
  • Thought Leadership Platforms — By giving PARC members the ability to build their own member sub-groups, publish content and lead PARC events on topics of broad interest to legal professionals, we provide a rare platform for legal professionals to showcase and share their unique skills and knowledge, in front of other influential, high-achieving professionals.

What we do at PARC?

  • PARC deploys a variety of tools to promote peer engagement, mutual support and lifelong learning for our members, including:
    • Groups — Groups created by our management team, as well as by individual members, to create points of engagement around the issues that our members care most about. Some groups focus on substantive areas of expertise, others focus on career development needs, and others focus on how to make the legal profession a more rewarding, effective and inclusive environment for talented, high-achieving professionals.

    • Events — Events  created by PARC management, by our sponsors and by individual members, with a strong focus on professional networking, knowledge sharing and career development.

    • Referrals — Specialty counsel, legal tech solutions and general advice from trusted peers

    • Jobs — We offer platform to share specific opportunities within legal departments, law firms and legal tech companies — and to informally network to explore career options

    • News — Apple New / Google News type platform to share the latest legal news from dozens of reputable providers — as well as from within the PARC member and sponsor community

How was PARC founded?

PARC originated from two ten-year old organizations that have long supported networking, career development and business development for legal professionals: In The House, an organization for in-house counsel and Partner Referral Club, an organization for law partners.

Both communities drew on legal technology companies for sponsorship and other support, so it made sense to include legal technology professionals as the “third leg” in PARC’s infrastructure.

Who is PARC for?

Seasoned legal professionals (10+ years of experience) that value developing mutually enriching, long-term, professional relationships with their peers across the legal services industry will enjoy PARC the most. Together we can help each other achieve greater career success and to work together to make the legal profession more client-driven, efficient and inclusive.
